Using "Game of Awesome" for Language Therapy

Writer's picture: Vani GuptaVani Gupta

A couple of years ago, I discovered this free downloadable card game. You can use the cards for a whole range of language activities. I use them for sentences and narrative tasks within speech and language therapy sessions. They're fun and sometimes silly, which helps keep kids engaged.

These cards are by New Zealand creators, so I've culled a few cards that are not culturally-specific to Australia. However, I kept others in anyway because they’re a great way to learn about a different culture with clients. Plus, it allows the opportunity for clients to share information about their own culture, too!
